Hotel AVIVA protects guests & staff with Kappa Wavebionix® filter elements for ventilation units

The Hotel AVIVA make friends****s in St. Stefan - Afiesl in the Mühlviertel region of Upper Austria has been one of the first hotels to implement an extensive hygiene concept: new Kappa Wavebionix® virus filters have also been installed in the hotel's ventilation system. AVIVA is therefore the first hotel to use the virus-tested filters.

The Kappa Wavebionix® is the first ventilation filter in the world to be tested using active viruses by the Austrian Research Institute for Chemistry and Technology. It removes 97.2% of all viruses and pathogens from indoor air. To date, Wavebionix® filters have mainly been used in public institutions, banks and hospitals. The Hotel AVIVA is the first hotel in Austria to convert to Wavebionix® filters. The filter elements can be upgraded in existing ventilation systems to a protection system against possible virus transmission without any modifications. The big difference to conventional filters, which are only designed to protect devices, is the personal protection.

Wavebionix® filters viruses, pollen and all bacteria - the risk of infection in the Hotel AVIVA is thus reduced to an absolute minimum.

The Wavebionix® was developed and produced by the Upper Austrian company Kappa Filter Systems GmbH. The company has been involved in aerosol research and virus filters for over 28 years. “We are delighted to be the first hotel in Austria to receive the new virus filters - and from a regional company to boot,” says Christian Grünbart, Managing Director of Hotel AVIVA.

Measurement results Hotel AVIVA****s make friends:

Measurements were taken at the Hotel AVIVA****s make friends on 17.8.2021 to compare the particle load with the conventional M5 standard filter and the new Wavebionix® virus filters. The result shows a significant reduction in particle pollution through the use of the Kappa Wavebionix® filter elements. Even virus-sized particles are demonstrably and permanently retained by the filter.
