25 years of Kappa - A day that is all about good air
Kappa was entered in the Steyr commercial register on June 12, 1993. This marked the beginning of Kappa's success story with its continuous efforts to capture industrial emissions as completely as possible and save energy. Reason enough to celebrate our achievements and set ourselves new goals.
For this reason, the 25th anniversary was celebrated on September 21 with employees, partners, companions and the public at the Museum Arbeitswelt Steyr. The motto was: “The day when everything revolves around good air”. In three acts, the evening brought a strong breeze of future trends from industry, innovation, science and entertainment.
First act:
The Mayor of Steyr, Gerald Hackl, Herbert Jodlbauer (Head of the Production and Management course at Steyr University of Applied Sciences) and Kappa Managing Director Klaus Krüger drew a line from the present to the future. The three success factors of the Steyr region were emphasized: the high quality of life, the top educational location and the dynamic economy. The focus was on the future. This applied in particular to the challenges that industry employees will face in the future. It became clear that modern, clean and safe workplaces are increasingly becoming a question of location. In order to do justice to this, the industry will present a completely new face in the future - clean, attractive and safe.
Second act:
Kappa's Head of Marketing, Maximilian Hauer, presented the Airic innovation to the public. Airic is a work of art in the form of a sculpture designed by Bernhard Brandstetter, an industrial design student at the University of Art and Design Linz. Its prefabricated concrete base roots the sculpture in the river landscape in Steyr's Wehrgraben. The attached metal form consists of angled triangles and symbolizes both the city and Kappa's product language. The integrated light bar signals activity and communicates with the viewer at dusk and in the evening with its pleasant and pulsating light. Airic conceals state-of-the-art environmental measurement technology, measuring the air quality at the exact location where Kappa was founded in 1993. The countless measurement pulses are gradually condensed in a specially developed mathematical model and finally translated into a plausible and comprehensible value for the quality of the air. In future, the generally high air quality at the installation site will serve Kappa as a reference value for the air quality index, which was defined by Kappa for industrial production.
The Kappa Air Quality Index Steyr-Wehgraben can be easily accessed at Kappa AQI
Third act:
The last and “third act” combined science with entertainment. The Science Busters, who have long since achieved cult status with their TV show, were recruited for this. The Science Busters are committed to scientific thinking and know how to present science in a distinctive and entertaining way.
The evening was rounded off with a first-class cocktail service with Austrian charm from the maniac bar_artists and a sound performance by DJ Harvey Miller.
